Why Us

Our clients have the opportunity to participate in traditional behavior therapy settings or with our horses as a medium to practice learned skills with a live creature that mirrors exactly what they (client) are communicating both non-verbally and verbally. Many of the daily living skill sets can be practiced with or near the horse. The horse becomes a non-judgmental recipient and ‘reflector’ of the success of the new skill.

We provide several different aspects of equine activities for our clients. Emotional release, developing relationship, skills training to improve boundaries, developing family team building and communication skills, hippo therapy-riding: physical skill development, neurological and physical body engagement (cross midline, balance, sensory alignment etc.) are among a few of our core programs.

Our horses are taught to accept riders from a wheel chair ramp, tiny ones that can only brush their legs and adults that are active military and muscled up! Our horses vary in size and temperament so that we can accommodate several different emotional needs and personalities. We have a variety of sizes to accommodate the variety of people size for riding.

The staff and volunteers (all have completed background checks) are an amazing group of people that work very closely with the licensed BCBA to welcome the members and ensure their safety. The staff and volunteers engage in activities with the clients and the horses, if the clients choose to engage with them, to carry out the goals and objectives as identified in the Treatment Plans under the direction of the BCBA. The staff take data and provide it the BCBA for review and report.
